FAG Bearings
FAG is the Schaeffler Group's brand for standard deep groove ball bearings and produces the complete 6000/6200/6300/6400, 16000 and 62/63 series; unlike INA, it has a full-range DGBB catalog. The critical points are the separator and the seal code: FAG uses 2RSR for seals instead of SKF's 2RS1, and 2ZR for metal shields (2Z in the newer notation); in older catalogs and in the marking on the bearing the separator is a DOT (6205.2RSR.C3), while in the current Schaeffler medias notation it is a HYPHEN (6205-2RSR-C3), and both denote the same product. "C" (e.g. 6205-C-2Z, 6205-C-2HRS) indicates the optimized Generation C internal design, "L038" the standard lithium-soap grease fill, and codes without "L038" the standard fill. Precision suffixes are P6/P5/P4 (P63 = P6 + C3), and heat stabilization suffixes are S0/S1/S2.

Suffixes are appended with a HYPHEN. Example: 6205-2RSR-C3. In older FAG catalogs the separator may be a dot: 6205.2RSR

Markings on the bearing: Laser-marked on the outer ring side face: "FAG" in capital letters on the top line (on classic products, the "FAG" logo inside/below a circle), the full code below it (e.g. "6205.2ZR.C3" or, in the newer notation, "6205-2RSR-C3"), followed by the country of origin ("GERMANY", "MADE IN GERMANY", also "ROMANIA", "SLOVAKIA", "INDIA", "CHINA") and the production batch/date code. On shielded types (2ZR/2Z), the brand and code are often stamped/laser-marked on the metal shield; on sealed types, an embossed "FAG" and the code appear on the seal. On the bearing itself, the code traditionally appears with a DOT separator (6205.2RSR.C3); in Schaeffler medias and on new labels, with a HYPHEN (6205-2RSR-C3). The box label carries the Schaeffler barcode and a 13-digit EAN.
