IKO Bearings

IKO (Nippon Thompson) does NOT manufacture standard deep groove ball bearings (ISO 6200/6300 series); its official product catalogs contain no such product group. IKO's product range consists of needle roller bearings (NA, NAG, RNA, TA, TLA, BR, NAU), cam followers / roller followers (CF, CFS, NURT, CR), spherical plain bearings and rod ends (PB, PHS/POS Pilloball), crossed roller bearings and, on top of these, linear motion products (Linear Way, C-Lube, Linear Bushing, Ball Spline, Linear Slide Unit, Mechatronics series). If a code such as "IKO 6205-2RS" is seen on the market, it is either a counterfeit/imitation product or a product sold under the IKO name by another manufacturer; when an equivalent is requested for the 6200/6300 series, the customer should be referred to brands such as SKF, FAG, NSK, NTN, KOYO and NACHI.

Code structure

IKO does NOT use the ISO 62xx/63xx deep groove ball bearing designation system. Its codes follow its own format: series code + dimensions + seal. Examples: NA4908UU, CF10UU, BR364828UU

SuffixMeaningExample
U Rubber seal on one side (nitrile NBR). Used in IKO needle roller / cam follower products, not in deep groove ball bearings 6205U
UU Rubber seals on both sides (nitrile NBR). IKO's standard seal suffix (e.g. NA4908UU, CF10UU); not applicable to deep groove ball bearings 6205UU
Markings on the bearing: Laser-marked on the outer ring face, usually in a single line: "IKO" (capital letters, in the characteristic logo lettering) + space + full product code + "JAPAN" (e.g. IKO NA4908UU JAPAN). On small shell-type (TA/TLA) bearings, the marking is printed/embossed on the outer surface and may consist of only "IKO" + code. The lettering is a light gray-white laser mark, not embossed; the packaging uses the blue-and-white IKO box design.
