SNR (NTN-SNR) Bearings

SNR produces the full range of standard deep groove ball bearings (600/6000/6200/6300/6400/16000/61800/61900 series); its most distinctive difference is the use of "EE" instead of "2RS" for sealed types, and "E" for a single seal. In classic SNR notation the separator is a dot (6205.EE, 6205.ZZ, 6205.EE.J30), but in today's NTN-SNR e-shop references the dots are dropped and the code is written as one string (6205EE, 6205ZZC3, 6205EEC3); both are the same product. In the old catalog, radial internal clearance is given by the codes J20/J30/J40 (=C2/C3/C4); in the new catalog, directly as C2/C3/C4. Single-side shielded (Z) and single-side sealed (E) types are defined in the catalog but are rarely found on the market; double-sided (ZZ / EE) is standard.

Code structure

The basic designation is followed by a DOT, then the seal and clearance code. Example: 6205.EEC3. In older SNR notation the clearance code takes its own dot: 6205.EE.J30. The dot is often dropped and the code written as one string: 6205EEC3

Markings on the bearing: Laser-marked on the outer ring side face: "SNR" in capital letters at the top (sometimes "NTN-SNR" on recent production), the full code below it (e.g. "6205.EE" or "6205EEC3"), plus the origin marking ("FRANCE" / "MADE IN FRANCE"; on bearings made in Romania, India or China, the respective country) and a batch/date code in small print. On shielded (ZZ) types, the same marking may also be printed on the shield; on rubber-sealed (EE) types, an embossed "SNR" logo and the code appear on the seal face.
